Why D&D Players Deserve Gifts Beyond the Dice Bag
Most people buying for a tabletop player default to one thing: more dice. It's the safe move, and it's also the reason so many unique gift ideas for dnd players end up in a drawer next to the character sheets. At Full Sun Graphics, we make handmade drinkware and apparel for hobbyists.
Dice are a tool, not a personality. A cup, journal, or shirt can make a personal gift.
Below, we share gift ideas for D&D players and ways to match a gift to a character.
D&D Gifts Besides Dice: What Players Actually Use at the Table
D&D gifts besides dice can include items for the table, such as drinkware and journals.
Here's what we'd prioritize, in order:
- An insulated tumbler with a lid. A tumbler with a lid can be a drinkware gift.
- A hardcover journal for campaign notes. A hardcover journal can be a gift for campaign notes.
- A character-themed shirt. Something to wear to the session that isn't a costume.
- A dice tray or bag. Practical, cheap, and almost always appreciated.
- A miniature or terrain piece. Best for players who paint or build, not for everyone.
If you're shopping for the note-taker in your group, a woodland mushroom journal is one gift idea.
Handmade D&D Gifts That Feel Personal, Not Mass-Produced
Handmade D&D gifts can feature designs for specific interests.

We're a one-woman shop, and our designs are made for people with specific passions. If the person you're buying for loves the cottagecore side of fantasy, a mushroom forest tumbler or a hand-drawn mushroom shirt may suit their interests.
Best for: players who care about art style and want something no one else at the table owns. Skip if: the recipient is strictly utilitarian and would rather have a dice set.

D&D Gifts for Dungeon Masters Who Run the Whole Table
A gift for a Dungeon Master could reflect their role or their hobby.
What actually helps a DM:
- A big insulated cup. A 20-ounce tumbler can be a drinkware gift for a Dungeon Master.
- A dedicated notes journal. A journal can be used for session prep, NPC names, and plot threads.
- Something to wear that says "DM" without saying it loudly.
A dice set is another possible gift for a Dungeon Master. If you want the drinkware angle, our druid coffee tumbler with straw has double-wall vacuum insulation, a splash-proof slide lid, and a fantasy design.
